Mudassar Toppa

Mudassar joined CLEAR as a Justice Catalyst Fellow for 2020 – 2021, and now serves as a Staff Attorney.

At CLEAR, Mudassar provides direct representation to clients facing scrutiny by law enforcement, individuals experiencing long delays in their applications for immigration benefits. Mudassar has sought resentencing for individuals convicted of terrorism related crimes. Mudassar also served as a lead co-author of a joint CLEAR- M4BL report, The Struggle for Power.

A native New Yorker, Mudassar graduated from Queens College and CUNY School of Law, where he was a member of the law review, moot court, and a treasurer for the Muslim Law Students Association. As a member of CUNY School of Law’s Immigrant and Non-Citizen Rights Clinic, Mudassar represented individuals incarcerated at the U.S. Naval Station at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba.
